The government of Palma commissioned Vault Zafra to study the structural consolidation of different construction elements from the second and third defensive site of the Bellver castle.
The purpose is to identify existing pathologies, determine their causes, and propose interventions. After the analyses, they propose actions to reinforce the walls, eliminate impermeable paving for more permeability, compress the wall’s filling to increase the angle of repose, construction on the storm water sewer system, and lastly stone treatment.
Finally, we issue recommendations about checking the water supply, analysis of the sewage network, and actively monitoring to control possible deformations of the elements that have been in a critical state.
